How things work.

Some kinds of work don't need a website with many pages. They need one good page on the phone, opened by a card. Here is how to tell which one is yours.

A guest in a stone cellar, a passenger on a ferry, a host on a beach behind the headland: the signal does not always reach when it is needed. Here is how a site still opens what matters then, and on what condition.

A visitor cannot see how good a site looks if they never waited for it. Here is why speed decides before design does, what actually makes a site fast and how to measure it honestly.

When someone types “hairdresser Trogir” or “taxi Split”, Google chooses whom to show. Here is what it looks at, which parts of that you can shape yourself and why nobody honest can promise you first place.

Some people no longer type keywords into a search engine; they ask an AI assistant as they would a friend: where can we eat well near Trogir tonight? Here is how such a tool arrives at its answer, and which part of that depends on you.

You see colours, photographs and layout. An AI tool sees something quite different. On sorich.hr there is a button that shows it, on this article too, so you can see it for yourself.

A site without statistics is a shop window with no idea who is looking in. Here is what you can see every month, how it is counted without cookies and why that means no consent banner.

A guest puts together an order or a booking on your site, and you receive one clear WhatsApp message. Here is how it works, why it pays off for a small business and what such a system does not do.

The most common message a small business gets is “How much?”, with nothing else. A calculator on your site turns that around: the customer builds what they need and sees an approximate price, and you receive an enquiry that says everything.

Most small businesses don't need an app; a good website is enough. But when data changes all the time, or different people need to see different things, the site becomes an app, and that changes how it has to be looked after.

A site isn't finished on the day it goes online. Over a year, prices, opening hours and photographs change, the domain needs renewing, and someone has to keep an eye on whether it all works. That is the care plan.

A gmail address is free and it works. But an address like name@yourbusiness.com tells a customer there's a real business behind the message, and gives you an address that stays yours even when you change mail provider.

The Wi-Fi password, where to park, when the key is handed over. A guest guide answers all of it with one link, in the guest's language, and without a signal once it has been opened with one.

The platforms bring guests, but every booking through them carries a commission. Your own site gives a guest who already knows you a direct way to you.

The build price is the number everyone compares, but it isn't the only bill. Here I add up what a site costs over three years, three different ways.

You send the address, the business name and the town. Within 24 hours you get a report that says where the site stands, what holds it back most and what I would fix first.

I work alone, so it's a fair question. The answer is short: the site is yours whenever you ask for it, and you get everything it needs to run without me.

Hold a phone to the card and a page opens. Here is what actually happens in between, in plain words.

On a good card, a contact can reach another phone in three ways. Each covers what the others can't, and all three end in the same place.

A happy guest sometimes doesn't write a review simply because nobody asked, or because there were too many steps. The card shortens the path; the rest is a matter of asking honestly.

A printed card usually tells you nothing about whether anyone uses it. Mine does, because each one has its own short address that counts openings, not people.

A guest sits down, holds their phone to the stand and reads the menu in their own language, with allergens beside every dish. Here is how it works, and why it beats a PDF.

The stand on your table started as a thin plastic thread, laid down layer by layer. Here is how, and why that lets it look just like your place.

When someone searches Google for a konoba, a hairdresser or a taxi nearby, they see the map and business profiles first, and only then websites. That profile is often the first thing anyone learns about you, so it pays to make it complete and accurate.

An ad is easy to praise by its clicks. But for a konoba, a taxi or an apartment, a click brings nothing until someone gets in touch. That's why I measure ads in messages and calls.

People see an LED screen ad in passing, from a car or the pavement, and nobody watches it from start to finish. One message fits in 10 seconds, and only if it's written for a passing glance.

A living profile doesn't need you to think up something to post every day. It needs a plan, a good photograph and a sentence that sounds like you, eight times a month.

A logo isn't a picture you draw once and forget. It's an agreement about how your business looks, wherever someone meets it.
